Professional Natural Hairstyles for African Women

Thanks you readers/viewers for requesting a post on professional natural hairstyles.

I am currently struggling and transitioning back to my natural hair and oh boy it's really a struggle.

Just like you my mind is racing everyday and these questions frequently arise
  • 'How should I comb my hair for work today?'
  • 'How would I comb my hair when I have decided to go completely natural?'

Sooooo ladies I decided to do some intensive research on professional  natural hairstyles for African women. This certainly assisted me and I hope it helps my readers.

Short Hair Style

Don't be afraid to rock your hair short or very low. I'm still trying to build the confidence to rock a short style hence the reason I'm toggling between natural and relaxed hair.  Here are some pictures of professional short styles.

Sophisticated Short and Fancy

Add a little colour, not too bright

Short to Medium Style

So there comes a point that you have to cut off the straight ends or you have decided you don't want too short or long hair.

Simple small cornrows with twist

Beautiful styled loose curl

Cornrows

I remember crying as a child not wanting to comb my hair in two cornrows however, this style has now revolved and its one of the simplest and professional hairstyle.

Look out for the video that show you how to plait that perfect cornrow.

Twist

Twisting your natural hair allows you to leave it out or even style it.

Classic One

You can't go wrong with your hair comb in one. I know this maybe boring but it's classic and chic.

Remember guys the key to professional hairstyles is being neatly groomed and avoid bright colours like purple, pink and green.

I hope these hairstyles were useful. Look out for the videos on French Braid and Simple Twist.

  1. I love these styles. I remember when I had transitioned from relaxed to natural I had difficulty in finding appropriate styles that I felt comfortable and secure with. Unfortunately I was limited to braiding and weaving until my hair had grown out a bit buy this article has provided some awesome ideas to try.

  4. I loved this article. It's nice that women are being encouraged to wear their natural hair in a professional/corporate setting and being given helpful ways to achieve this. Awesome.
